About Me - Jo Webster

Jo WebsterTrained as a textile designer I have transferred my love of colour and texture into the art of making mosaics. Using ceramics, china, glass, mirror and tiles in different ways I make unique pieces which reflect my interest in the natural world. The way that light is reflected on the different surfaces and textures, the depth of colour in the glass and the variety of the decorative china I use is truly inspiring.

Finding the raw materials, cutting and shaping, cementing, gluing and grouting may take many hours but I find the whole process immensely rewarding. I am inspired by nature, movement and colour and continue to experiment with different subject matters. Commissions include commemorative plaques, mirrors and scenic pieces.

I am an active member of the Faringdon Art Society. The society welcomes anyone with an interest in art, whether two or three dimensional and whether they be a leisure artist, a professional, or just someone that enjoys seeing how artists create their work.
